About Us

Raggidy Rag Dolls designer and founder Katie Graham has worked as a Costume Designer in both theatre and film.  ”I have always had an appreciation for handmade crafts and collectable fabrics, and I find it hard to keep away from vintage furniture and clothing”, she says. “I am enchanted by the workmanship and detail that goes into products that aren’t mass produced.”

Katie is also the busy mother of three young children.  She’s found that her passion for the handmade is little reflected in the world of contemporary toys and children’s design.  ”Creating these dolls and decor has been an escape from my own busy life, taking me back to my childhood and filling my head with wonderful memories,” she says.  ”But it’s also a way of offering my own children – and hopefully many others – with handmade toys that spark imaginative, emotive play.”

Raggidy Rag Dolls bring a touch of the bespoke into a world of mass-produced toys.  Made in Australia since 2006, these charming rag dolls are now available internationally.  Each 19″ doll is handmade in Melbourne by skilled craftspeople, using natural fibres and limited edition prints from Liberty, inspiring English quilter Kaffe Fassett, Japan’s vibrant Kokka and Lecien, and carefully chosen vintage offcuts.

Raggidy Rag Dolls isn’t just about dolls.  The range also includes handcrafted quilts, lampshades and wall prints, all lovingly designed and locally made, ensuring quality and exclusivity.
